For many visitors, walking the transparent deck is thrill enough. But the Glass Bridge doubles as a launch pad for a cluster of paid extras built to use the same enormous drop, and if you're the sort of traveller who seeks these out, it's one of the most concentrated adrenaline spots in China. None of them are required to enjoy the bridge; all of them cost extra and are paid on the day, and their operation can depend on the weather and season.
The bungee
The headline extra is the bungee jump, billed as one of the highest in the world — a freefall of around 260 metres off the bridge into the canyon, for roughly 1,998 RMB, about US$285. It's a serious jump, both in height and price, and not something to decide on a whim at the rail; if it's on your list, plan for it, budget for it, and check ahead that it's running on your date, as it doesn't always operate.
The swings, zipline and slide
Below and around the deck are gentler-but-still-substantial thrills: a set of long swings that arc you out beneath the bridge over the drop, a zipline that runs roughly three hundred metres across the canyon in about a minute, and a downhill 'sky slide.' Each is a separate paid add-on. They're popular with visitors who want more than a crossing but aren't ready to throw themselves off on a bungee cord, and they make an already dramatic spot into a small adventure park.
Should you do them?
That depends entirely on what you came for. If the walk across is the experience you wanted, you can skip every extra and leave completely satisfied — the crossing is the main event. If you're a thrill-seeker, the combination of the world's-highest-billed bungee, the swings and the zipline over a genuine 300-metre canyon is hard to match, and worth planning the day around. Either way, wear comfortable shoes, keep some cash or a working payment method for the extras, and don't feel any pressure at the rail: the bridge is remarkable with or without falling off it.
